Title: Scary Few Minutes Post by dssaak on 05/11/05 at 09:06:20 I went for a ride and towards the end of the ride (30 miles from home) the bike starts to make a snapping noise and a motion that is hard to explain. At first I thought something had come loose in the transmission. It was like two gears weren't quite meshing and then sliding into place with a clunk. Come to find out, a small stone had been sucked into the belt and imbedding into the rear sprocket. Everytime the belt came around it would ride over the stone and then drop into place. I was lucky that I was going slow at the time. It took several anxious minutes to figure it out and once my heart started to slow down, I knew I would be alright. Anyone else have this experience? dk |
