Title: Winter Maintenance Post by Kropatchek on 02/06/05 at 05:43:50 Here's 2 pictures of my winterproject Intruder 2" risers, HD steering bar and Virago windscreen( with HD sportster mounts). ;) Grips from Louis.de a German supplier of motorbike goodies who also supplied the centerstand. The rearstand you regognize i presume. ::) http://img231.exs.cx/img231/7351/maintenance4mg.jpg http://img231.exs.cx/img231/9895/intruderrisers2wr.jpg Greetz Kropatchek |
Title: Re: Winter Maintenance Post by PerrydaSavage on 02/06/05 at 06:24:42 That looks real nice Kropatchek! Did you have to change your brake fluid reservoir because of the handlebar change to flatter bars? |
Title: Re: Winter Maintenance Post by lancer on 02/06/05 at 07:07:50 Hey man! Your bike is coming along well. I have got to say that I envy your work space...I do not have a garage at all and that is one of the primary things I don't like about this house. By the way, how did you flight testing go? Are you now a card carrying commercial, instrument rated, multi-engine pilot? |

Title: Re: Winter Maintenance Post by Susan on 02/21/05 at 17:25:07 Is that the famous Bert Heise or another Bert? |
Title: Re: Winter Maintenance Post by Kropatchek on 02/22/05 at 04:11:36 No, this is another Bert. The famous Bert Heise lives in Germany. Greetz Kropatchek ;D |
Title: Re: Winter Maintenance Post by Kropatchek on 03/19/05 at 09:36:46 Well here she is, put everything together. Changed the forkoil, replaced the brakepump, renewed the brakecaliper seals, installed RPM indicator etc. etc. BTW: This NOT my normal riding gear. http://img113.exs.cx/img113/7351/mesavage9ke.jpg http://img113.exs.cx/img113/6840/savhenk2bc.jpg When it is not raining to-morrow I take her for a spin. Title: Re: Winter Maintenance Post by Greg_650 on 03/19/05 at 09:40:41 Looking really good there. Nice yellow....in fact, I sometimes wish that I had gotten the 2000 in yellow rather than green. |
Title: Re: Winter Maintenance Post by Kropatchek on 03/20/05 at 09:40:30 Took the bike out for a spin to-day. First ride out-of hibernation Started right up. :) As the brakepads were new they had to be broken in, so almost NO brakes the first couple of miles. Backfired a lot as the idle mixture screw was not in the same position as before cleaning the carb. Adjusted the idle after warming up. Forward controls are a real pleasure, that with raising the seatfront 2" is more confortable then before. Any way to cut a short story long: I enjoyed the ride to-day. Greetz Kropatchek ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D |
Title: Re: Winter Maintenance Post by PerrydaSavage on 03/20/05 at 15:20:29 :)Real nice Kropatchek ... and congrats on gettin' a Ride in ... I know that you guys have had a long Winter as well in Europe this year ... looks like my Savage will have to wait another month ... eventhough the calendar says it's Spring, it hasn't sprung here in Newfoundland just yet ... |
Title: Re: Winter Maintenance Post by sluggo on 03/20/05 at 16:00:40 boy howdy it's nice to see ya all get your work done and thinking about riding. nice shots kropatchek, hope you get some quality riding time in. frankly i was even getting tired of all the shots of my thumper. i made one last mod yesterday. the tail lights while looking nice were not mounted high enough. i solved this by refurbishing a 49 year old tail light from an international pick up. let me tell you, they don't make things the way they used to. i was able to dissasemble and refurbish it with the sub assembly from the bikes original tail. perry, i'm pulling for good weather soon for you. my being able to ride this winter was not the norm. just a pleasant suprise. ;D |
