Title: stalling out
Post by suzyssuzi on 09/25/04 at 07:48:06

86 savage , seems that when at a cruising speed or putting in clutch the engine bogs out and sometimes will stall out. by cruising i mean town speed second gear at 50km cuts out , have stopped and looked at fuel filter (clear ) and seems to be empty, put on primer start bike up and drive away , seems ok once tank is at 1/2 or below, happens more on full tank. any ideas.

This topic has come up quite a bit on the Heise forum (another Savage board).  I was just reading some old posts that might be useful:

Stalling -- 9/5/03 post/replies (http://www.heise-workstations.de/ls650/Fragen/messages/22384.html)

Stalling -- 8/21/03 post/replies (http://www.heise-workstations.de/ls650/Fragen/messages/22049.html)

Stalling -- 9/26/04 post/replies (http://www.heise-workstations.de/ls650/Fragen/messages/37544.html)

A word of caution, sometimes spam gets posted to the Heise forum so just notice the subject line and date of the replies: if the subject line is wrong, or the date is way out of whack with the original post, it is likely spam.  Don't let this stop you from accessing the Heise forum -- it has lots of great advice -- just be careful.
