Title: oil consumption Post by flubbyhead on 03/20/04 at 09:53:26 I'm a new Savage owner and my bike uses one quart of oil every 500 miles. There's also a tapping near or at the head after it warms up. Do I have a serious oil use problem?  flubbyhead

Title: Re: oil consumption Post by Kropatchek on 03/20/04 at 16:17:16 You probably have the infamous headplug leak.  :'( Clean the head of all residual oil and look in the cavaty just above the exhaust ( looking from the front that is). Search the forum for suggestions how to repair ::)
