Title: C'est déjà arrivé ici Post by WebsterMark on 10/21/26 at 04:33:28 Google tells me that’s French for it already happened here. Occupy Wall Street, Michael Brown and Ferguson, George Floyd, and a host of other regional “peaceful protest”, the US has endured them all. The difference with France is a larger % of recent immigrants are participating. That raises an interesting question. The US riots did not have that element of immigrants participating and is that a factor in them eventually fading out? In other words, is it possible that the participation of a critical mass of immigrants maintains momentum in a violent and destructive movement until a chain of events occurs where the movement is basically unstoppable using conventional law enforcement techniques and force? |

Title: Re: C'est déjà arrivé ici Post by WebsterMark on 10/21/26 at 04:59:22 I could be wrong, but I think the answer to that question is no. However, it has set the strange for the next reaction. A different combination of elements and pressure could easily reach critical mass. |

I don't think so. This is an opinion. First thing is the immigration component is amplified in US "news" in the aspect of percentage contributing to violence contributions. Also I'm not sure that violence from a French citizen is much different than violence from an immigrant. Until we know what critical mass, and conventional law enforcement techniques and force mean to you, then there really is no way to answer. |

"... ] I'm not sure that violence from a French citizen is much different than violence from an immigrant..."[/quote] I believe it is. And a great part of MY opinion, comes from, many news sources. Which report, (in various ways) "...No Muslims Stores, were looted/damaged/stole from, By Muslims ..." And the OBSERVED REALITY of the absolute destruction, in Mpls. Which I PERSONALTY Saw. (At that time I, was 75 min away, and 4 days later I drove through that area) Destruction from a, 'ANGRY MOB', Which destroys everything they can in their fever. Is very different that a ''ANGRY MOB', Which another faction has joined, and do NOT do any damage, to their own kind. Because it was 'identified', as a place no damage should occur. |

How many immigrants participated in the Jan 6 protest? I don’t know and probably pretty hard to say. I’m sure there were a percentage of legal first second third generation immigrants. How many illegal immigrants? I feel pretty good that number was probably zero but anything is possible. |

Title: Re: C'est déjà arrivé ici Post by WebsterMark on 10/21/26 at 09:58:19 From an AI search: Sociological analyses, neighborhood demographics, and expert evaluations during the late 2026 school and student riots suggest that first- and second-generation immigrant populations are highly represented among those arrested compared to "indigenous" or multi-generational French citizens, though official quantitative confirmation remains legally impossible. Because French law strictly forbids tracking the race, ethnicity, or lineage of detainees, this likelihood is inferred through the geographical and socioeconomic tracking of the unrest: |

Title: Re: C'est déjà arrivé ici Post by Eegore on 10/21/26 at 11:30:03 First thing is the immigration component is amplified in US "news" in the aspect of percentage contributing to violence contributions. How do you know that? An analysis of content within mainstream "news" cycles recorded in 22 countries compared against US "news" cycles. This specific analysis does not include social media by independents but does include social media posts made by official "news" agencies. This is an opinion. US "news" cycles amplify the verbiage of: "immigration" "immigrant" "illegal immigrant" "illegal immigration" "asylum" "asylum fraud" "refugee" "displaced" at about 29.4% An example is when a French "news" outlet indicates "immigrants" were involved in the unrest, the same "news" story is translated in US language, adding "illegal" to "immigrant". Not all the time, just about 29.4% of the time. This post is an opinion. |

Title: Re: C'est déjà arrivé ici Post by WebsterMark on 10/21/26 at 13:11:48 I didn’t say illegal immigrant, I said immigrant. I further went on to clarify first and second generation. Everyone should be aware the demographics of France has drastically changed in the last generation or two. My theory, which I believed to be proven by ongoing events, is the first and second generation immigrants into France have not experienced the prosperity that they perhaps imagined they would or should. It’s likely this generates a high level of frustration which is easily manifested in violence and I believe it’s accurate to say this is a manifestation of the immigrants indigenous culture. |

I don’t think we can say today as we did in the past. They’re in lies the difference. And I believe a consequence of that is being felt in France today. |

Title: Re: C'est déjà arrivé ici Post by Needles on 10/22/26 at 08:28:53 Hardly any immigrant population in the US was immediately assimilated. On the NE coast, it was Germans, Italians, and Irish that were discriminated against, since they didn't have many black people. Same with the midwest, though it was Germans, Poles, and Scandinavians. Even the west coast had issues with Chinese,, Armenians, and Japanese immigrants. And, of course, the border states have their Hispanics, since, in Texas, anyone who can only speak Spanish is Mexican, no matter where they were born... 1st and 2nd gen immigrants usually have to deal the most discrimination, usually. In Californis, specifically Fresno, in the late '70s and early '80s, it was the resettled Hmong. NW Arkansas is currently struggling with Marshallese immigrants. (You MAGATs probably thought the US STOPPED making those islands uninhabitable.) It takes generations to assimilate foreigners into a culture. |
