Title: Looking for Scrambler Build Tires Post by troyrr on 12/10/25 at 10:06:28 I just got my hands on a 2009 S40. I'm doing a scrambler build, but I'm having trouble finding the right tires for these wheels. Any scrambler builders out there have any recommendations? Should I consider different sized rims? |

Title: Re: Looking for Scrambler Build Tires Post by Dave on 12/10/25 at 13:51:21 Look for some optional sizes to get a better variety of tire choices. A 130/90-15 tire is almost exactly the same size as the stock 140/80-15 tire (a weird size that only IRC makes). A 140/90-15 tire is larger in both width and diameter than the stock size - but it does fit....you may need to change the bolts under the rear fender for some with shorter heads to prevent rubbing. I am not a fan of a 150 width tire on a Savage - as they are just too wide for the narrow rear rim. The Tech Section has information on changing to cast aluminum wheels from earlier Suzuki models - this will get you a 16" rear wheel diameter and you may be able to find a better choice of Scramble tires in that diameter. |
