I'm sure this won't surprise some of ya'll ?

But , I been having the idea to be better protected for next years ridding season !

So , the idea to get some better protection than a skid-lid and a "Tee-shirt"has me looking at things like these :

Any of you folks tried these ? I plan to ... but ... things made in Asia sometimes are not sized to American standards. Anybody ordered the size 34 (XL) ? If so , is the real waist size 34 inches ?

As you know....I am a firm believer in ATGATT (All The Gear All The Time).

Full face helmet, armored jacket, armored gloves, hearing protection. My pants in brutally hot weather are from your home town of Lynchburg - Diamond Gusset jeans with Kevlar material in the spots you are going to be sliding on (they don't have armor). For cooler days I have several different pants (with armor) that I have gathered up over the years. When I go into a bike shop I always look at their pants trying to find the "right" pair, and I have some cold weather pants that are like a snowmobile suit and a midweight and mesh pair with armor. (I have never really found a set of motorcycle pants that are flattering....they all look a bit goofy when you are off the bike).

I do believe you get what you pay for - and as much as you ride it would likely be better to spend a bit more money and get something more durable than a $43 pair of pants. I have 2 pair of Diamond Gusset jeans and they are likely close to 8 years old - they are expensive but you have the option of stopping in and asking about buying "seconds" - they are much cheaper and when I bought a pair of seconds for StewMills they looked perfect to us. Get a longer inseam than you wear in regular jeans so they cover your ankles when you are on the bike.

Another source of quality gear is Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace. Lots of folks invest in riding gear for their new bike - then find out they don't like riding. I have bought gloves, jackets and a new Schoei helmet at significant discounts (the helmet had only been worn a few times and he decided it was too small for him). My biggest score was a Klim jacket for $100 - it was a $450 jacket, and after riding with it I discovered there really is a reason they are expensive....it is the best spring/fall jacket I have ever owned (great down to 50 degrees with just a sweatshirt underneath - but a bit too hot above 80 degrees unless you keep moving and get some airflow through the zippered vents).

Also look at the customer feedback for those jeans you posted.....they don't look to be a great product.

The price of those Jeans from Lynchburg has go up a lot and they all are in blue. Gray would be good , all my boots and belts are Black now . ::)

But maybe the ebay ones do have Aramid in the seat , hips , and behind the knee plate ? I might have to order a pair of them and see how they fit, and if they realty have all that Aramid in them ? At the under $50.00 price I could order a size XL and XXL to see which size fits better ! :-?

I'd like to have a Klim outfit for foul weather ridding ! But at close to $1000. I'll probably never will ! I may have a "Cycle Gear" pocket book ! ;D

Its hard to guess how Aisian clothing sizes work.
If the size XL(34") is too small , I may have a friend who is just a little smaller than I am who rides a motorcycle ... the other side of that coin might be , if the XXL is too large , I've got a a buddy who is just a little Larger than me too !
