Title: Black wire ?
Post by zipidachimp on 03/31/25 at 19:38:03

After checking my versy,(no movement last year) I noticed the black wire exiting the RHS crankcase appeared a bit worn.
Lots of photos in the manual (pages 123,151,156,157) but no explanation of what this wire does.  Help ?
Cheers!  8-)

I think you're talking about the neutral switch.

Clean & dry the wire  , then dribble or brush a couple of coats
of that liquid electric tape( hardware store near black electrical tape ) Couple areas on my 55 F100 harness where insulation just cracked and fell off was touched up a bit with that , works great , dries pretty quick too. Stuff comes in handy for sealing up all kinds of things. And yes it’s the neutral switch wire.

Thanks, guys! Always know where to ask questions and get answers. Why RHS for a gearbox function??
Cheers!  8-)
