it is a majority, because there are always people who have no opinion. and there are people who not only approve of it but are completely enthusiastic about it. And there are a lot of people who say they don't agree with it because that is their profession. and then there are the people who are against it but secretly think it is good
And then there are the people who are fraudsters and therefore lose their malafide income. They are also against it but that doesn't count.

And since lefties are all profiteers with vague genders 44% is therefore a result of 100% approval.
