Title: Mr. Speaker Post by WebsterMark on 12/19/24 at 05:06:36 Elon Musk? The Speaker of the House isn’t required to be a member of Congress. Interesting…. |
Title: Re: Mr. Speaker Post by Serowbot on 12/19/24 at 07:35:14 Why do that? He's already in charge |
Title: Re: Mr. Speaker Post by thumperclone on 12/19/24 at 08:52:12 the cannibals are mad at mike for his dealings with the dems trying to avoid a gvt shutdown |
Title: Re: Mr. Speaker Post by Serowbot on 12/19/24 at 09:44:55 The new Republican platform "If it ain't broke, break it" |
Title: Re: Mr. Speaker Post by JOG on 12/19/24 at 09:47:07 Rumor has it, Mike didn't even bother talking to Republicans, just went with the democrats. Some of us don't mind a goob shutdown. If it avoids financial sabotage, let's go with it. Since Mikey is speaker, replacing with musk would be great. Trump can impound monies, I'm sure only after a big, time wasting fight. |

Title: Re: Mr. Speaker Post by LANCER on 12/19/24 at 11:14:40 He’s not an orange felon, he has not been sentenced yet. It’s not done until the judge pronounces and his sentence, and wacks the gavel. |
Title: Re: Mr. Speaker Post by Serowbot on 12/19/24 at 12:41:35 Future felon? Better? |
Title: Re: Mr. Speaker Post by JOG on 12/19/24 at 12:42:06 What evidence do you have that shows Trump wants to raise it? |
Title: Re: Mr. Speaker Post by Serowbot on 12/19/24 at 13:58:09 What is the debt ceiling? What has Trump said about the US debt limit? What to know. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2024/12/19/debt-ceiling-trump-government-shutdown/77085967007/ Spend spend spend :-? |
Title: Re: Mr. Speaker Post by JOG on 12/19/24 at 14:18:53 I just don't understand why I continue to be astounded at your unwillingness to grasp the realities and contexts necessary to have a clue. Is it really beyond your intellectual capacities or is it just because you don't want to? |
Title: Re: Mr. Speaker Post by WebsterMark on 12/19/24 at 14:35:37 It’s the same reason why fans of their favorite sports team can’t see reality: their team sucks and the other guy is better. They can’t see that. It’s always something else that causes them to lose, it’s never the truth. Why vote for a “continuing resolution” when it’s really an increasing resolution! |
Title: Re: Mr. Speaker Post by Serowbot on 12/19/24 at 14:36:29 You're so funny ;D |

Title: Re: Mr. Speaker Post by WebsterMark on 12/20/24 at 04:00:47 This is going to be really interesting. Trump wants one thing, some Republican representatives are sticking with the original bill which I assume benefits their districts or themselves personally. Clearly, the message has got up to all the leftist because like one giant circle jerk, the Democrats and leftist and media have jumped on the blame Elon Musk bandwagon. And they’ve all got some little pet project they’re claiming Trump want to kill. Trump wants to kill pancreatic cancer treatment, Trump wants to kill hurricane relief, Trump wants to kill this benefit or the benefit….. Why wouldn’t a continuing resolution continue? Whatever is in the budget and whatever the current numbers are, doesn’t a continuing resolution mean everything just stays the same until March? So why is there an increase in spending? |
Title: Re: Mr. Speaker Post by thumperclone on 12/20/24 at 04:27:18 swamp speak calls it pork |
Title: Re: Mr. Speaker Post by zevenenergie on 12/20/24 at 06:17:34 I think it is unethical to push through a few more laws now. And I think Elon is right when he says that the package contains questionable laws. Elon is someone who thinks scientifically and I think that politicians have to get used to that. I think it is a breath of fresh air but I am not a politician or civil servant who is going to lose his redundant job. Trump wants financial freedom during his term and he is right because the Democrats will work against him as much as they can. If I were president and Elon were in my think tank .... I would consider myself lucky. I do not want to choke on the national debt and Elon is an excellent businessman. I would say the right man for a very difficult job. |
