The problem with leftys is that if you ride with them you will never get home. They keep turning left.

It's a lot worse than that.
The Things they Know
Just aren't True.

Nonsensical declarations, demanding society agree and support their misguided agenda. Men get pregnant, YaKnow!
DEI.
I'm not against Diversity.
The entire thing sprung from a Not misguided belief that competent people were being denied positions they were qualified for. And transmogrified to the insane idea that competence wasn't the issue. No,we Must Diversify, even if doing so cripples the organization.
People who are Qualified, be they Pink with Purple PolkaDots or any color of the rainbow, should be included. There WAS a time when qualified people were passed over because they didn't fit The Mold. IF it's possible to get society to stop doing that, and I believe it is not just possible, but Already achieved.
That's how I see it. YMMV.

Louis DeJoy (born 1956/57]) is an American businessman serving as the 75th U.S. postmaster general. He was appointed in May 2020 by the Board of Governors of the United States Postal Service (USPS). Prior to the appointment, he was the founder and CEO of the logistics and freight company New Breed Logistics and was a major Republican Party donor and fundraiser for Donald Trump.

On May 6, 2020, the bipartisan USPS Board of Governors, all selected by Trump and confirmed by the Senate, announced DeJoy's appointment as postmaster general and CEO, despite concerns about conflicts of interest

What I see is the result of having an organization that needs Congress to apply policy, but also is supposed to make it's own money by way of competitive Capitalist means.

It sort of makes sense since Congress appropriates funding for anything that is underfunded, but also the USPS is still paying for under-charged postage from the 1990's - required by Congress.

The people I've talked to are really tired of delivering for Amazon and the USPS gets either nothing or not near enough. IIRC the guy I talked to said they got zilch.

Amazon pays the USPS. The Postal Regulatory Commission reviews all contracts and has concluded the USPS makes money delivering for Amazon.  The 2006 Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act is law and as such I have no reason to beleive, lets say the incoming POTUS' opinion over US law and math as we know it.

The USPS distribution center near me has hired more USPS staff due to Amazon.  Their claim is 15% of their staff is due to Amazon and would be let go if the Amazon contract ends.  The real question is would their pay actually increase if Amazon paid more.

I say no, because as my original point indicated, Congress would decide not the USPS management.  So the USPS could negotiate a private party contract at a higher percentage like a real private company responsible for their own income, but then the US Government decides what they can do with that money.

 Good luck.
