The last 3-4 months have absolutely been historic in regards to The Presidency of these United States. We’re too close to it right now, can’t see the forest for the trees, but set aside your partisanship for a minute and compare this against almost any other election and it’s near the top.

I’m 63 and have followed politics since 1973 when I remember watching some of The Watergate hearings. The Nixon resignation and Ford pardon was something unique but doesn’t come close to this.

Can anyone nominate a close second? Maybe Lincoln’s second election during the Civil War? Washington stepping down after two terms when he could have force his way into office again? Truman taking over for Roosevelt during WWII?

I would say, Carter/Reagon.

Difference, no crying in the street, or Fairy Dust Sprinkling/Gimmie, Gimmie, Gimmie, RIOTS.
