Title: Brake bleeding Post by Surviving Philly on 07/17/24 at 07:01:48 So, I replaced my fluid the other week. I went to bleed the brakes, that classic pump pump hold, open, close, release. When holding the lever after pumping the brake and opening the line, the lever sinks to the bar..... I don't remember this being normal. Is this normal? |

Title: Re: Brake bleeding Post by Surviving Philly on 07/17/24 at 08:11:42 Thanks sero -- I just want to be clear about what I'm asking -- the brake isn't sinking now that it's back together, it was only sinking while holding it and opening the line to let the air out, then kept pressure after closing the line. It does feel bad right now though, as in poor lever response, but I will bleed again. |

Yes, that is normal. When you open the line, there is nothing for the lever to push against.. so it goes all the way to the bar. The less air in the line, the firmer it will feel as you pump the lever.. but it will still go to the bar when you open the valve. |
Title: Re: Brake bleeding Post by Surviving Philly on 07/17/24 at 08:45:21 Thanks guys. This is the third time I've replaced this fluid and for some reason I just could not recall that happening in the past. Another reason to stop drinking I suppose. |
