Title: Gear Shift Cover GASKET Post by ThumperPaul on 02/03/24 at 14:09:25 I think I found my leak. Gear shift cover gasket. This is a 2005 S40. Partzilla has 2 gaskets listed for the 2005. Partzilla guy didn't know the difference between the two gaskets. This one (11485-24B10) shows fitment for 1995-2004 Savage and 2005-2009 S40. https://www.revzilla.com/oem/suzuki/suzuki-11485-24b10-gasket-gear-shift-cover?sku_id=1621497 This one (11485-24B20) shows fitment for S40 2005-2019. https://www.revzilla.com/oem/suzuki/suzuki-11485-24b20-gasket-gear-shift-cover?sku_id=1613654 I'm guessing one might have an extra hole or optional punch out, but why are only 2005-2009 listed for B10? Why not all S40 years? EDIT: Partzilla mentions models K5 and K6 for the B10. It shows models K7, K8, and K9 for the B20. How do I know which model I have? Also, any tricks/tips for changing this gasket? |
Title: Re: Gear Shift Cover GASKET Post by DragBikeMike on 02/04/24 at 10:22:36 The later model gaskets are metal with a polymer coating. They are interchangeable. |
Title: Re: Gear Shift Cover GASKET Post by ThumperPaul on 02/04/24 at 10:30:47 Thanks Mike. I'm also going to call Partzilla tomorrow and see if they can identify which model I have based on the VIN. I didn't realize there were 5 models for a given year. I could understand 2 models maybe - like California and not California. |

Title: Re: Gear Shift Cover GASKET Post by ThumperPaul on 02/04/24 at 10:50:35 I remember, Och. You sent me some o-rings to try. Thanks again. That's not it. |
