ok so I mistakenly pulled off the gear shift rod and didn’t mark where it was. Does anyone know how to find the correct spot? I tried just installing it and pushed the lever but it bent the rod. Luckily I was able to bend it back.

the lever should be pointed straight down, more or less.

if you have trouble going in one direction or the other try 1 tooth more in that direction.
