Title: Cracked Clutch Cover Post by Moarpower on 09/03/23 at 01:09:39 Hey guys, noticed a small crack in the clutch cover today during reassembly. Worth fixing or replace? I thought it was just a scratch but when torquing down after fitting the new gasket I hear it make that dreaded 'tink' sound. If anyone has a spare cover they'd sell and ship to Australia please let me know. Would rather buy from you guys than eBay if the price is right. |
Title: Re: Cracked Clutch Cover Post by DragBikeMike on 09/03/23 at 02:55:54 That is bad news. The crack runs into your oil passage. It's the passage that connects your oil pump discharge to the oil filter, so there is significant pressure involved. |

Title: Re: Cracked Clutch Cover Post by Dave on 09/03/23 at 11:34:23 Why did it crack? Something had to be installed improperly for there to be stress on the cover and the resulting crack as you tightened the screws. I believe you should use this cover to discover the issue - before you try to install a replacement. |

Title: Re: Cracked Clutch Cover Post by Moarpower on 09/03/23 at 14:11:13 The crack was present when I bought the bike. I just thought it was a scratch. It does look like the cover was dropped at some point near the crack. That or it was over torqued with a badly fitted gasket. |
