Title: FDA  Authorization
Post by Eegore on 08/13/23 at 15:14:28

FDA "Authorization" is only for getting a drug onto the market.

Once a drug is approved, the FDA does not Authorize physicians to use it.  They do not have that power.

Authorization is only and exclusively for approving a drug to be used/sold etc. initially.  Physicians can prescribe a drug "Authorized" to treat diabetes - for weight loss instead.  Like Ozembic.  This is called "off-label use".  It is allowed, it's legal, it happens daily to millions.  Ivermectin is exactly like this.

If the FDA says Ozembic is not "Authorized" for weight loss, this DOES NOT MEAN that it is NOT ALLOWED.  It is allowed.

 It's allowed.
 It can be done legally.

Now that does not mean the FDA has never done anything wrong.  The FDA can be held accountable for being misleading AND ALSO not have authorized Ozembic for weight loss.

This is because those are two different things.
