Title: Head and camshaft problem

I wanted to update you. I reassembled everything by passing lightly with fine sandpaper. I put a 20w50 oil with zddp additive. the bike runs great. This morning I did about 80 km and no noise. For now I'll use it like this..

best of luck, I don't think I could sleep at night knowing what the inside of that head looked like. I would change that oil in 500-1000 KM and inspect for metal flakes and shavings.

Looks like the classic "idle on the sidestand for too long" syndrom - what does the cam and rockers look like?

Your head/cam is toast.

This may be your best option......just bolt on and go.

When I went into the head on mine recently I had minor scoring.  I have been extremely conscientious to keep it upright and use good oil as well.

Best regards,

Unfortunately it's been 3 days since I bought the bike. I live in Italy and in my country there are very few spare parts. I think the only solution is to go to the rectifier and have a bushing made for me to apply after machining the base

Machine shops that can do this kind of repair work are quickly disappearing in the US....young fellows aren't getting into the trade and learning to do machining work.

It used to be an engine was worn out in 100,000 miles or less, and the machine shops had lots of work to repair the worn engine pieces.  Now that engines can go 200 - 300 -400,000 miles the need for machine shops is going away.  Even car the dealers no longer send engine parts to machine shops for repair - they just install new parts or buy rebuilt parts from Jasper.

Everything Dave said is sad but true.  I remember when a car note was for 3 years and you hoped to get 8 - 10 out of it.

Best regards,

The last time I had a 3 year note on a car was 1981.
A Chevy Caprice Classic Station wagon in gold tones.
Very comfy to drive.

You might consider calling the guy and asking if he still has that For Sale sign..

I decided to reassemble everything like this because I went to a very famous grinding machine in the area and spoke to the owner who, after measuring the coupling, told me to reassemble everything without problems. I just wanted to trust
