Title: Murray's VM36 Post by J Mac on 02/25/23 at 18:11:41 Opinions on this? Thank you. https://murrayscarbs.com/product/suzuki-boulevard-s40-savage-mikuni-carb-kit-vm36-36mm/ |
Title: Re: Murray's VM36 Post by Ruttly on 02/26/23 at 06:57:31 Consider Lancers kit , comes with extra jets & manual to learn from. Also in 36 & 38. Mikuni vm series is one of the best carbs around , has been used in racing for 50+ years. Once fully tuned acceleration is great , idles perfect & choke for cold starts It’s a racing carb , mpg or acceleration , tough to have both. |

Looks like an incomplete kit for twice as much. Go for it. |
Title: Re: Murray's VM36 Post by ohiomoto on 02/26/23 at 12:48:05 I would consider Lancer's kit because he provides tons of free information to forum members. But, the search button will find threads like this if you want more information: http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1657485453/15 |
Title: Re: Murray's VM36 Post by J Mac on 02/26/23 at 16:28:50 Thanks. I use the search button a lot, but I also get timeouts a lot, so it's hit or miss. I will consider Lancer. He's been very nice to me in the past. 22252422202239224D0 wrote:

Title: Re: Murray's VM36 Post by J Mac on 02/26/23 at 16:29:58 Twice as much as what? It's $366. If you know of a kit for $183, please share. 7053424E5A774C4C230 wrote:

Title: Re: Murray's VM36 Post by SpamyToo on 02/27/23 at 08:33:22 Lancer is the goto Mikuni guy on here. Also here you can get a genuine Keihin with all the needed parts and extra jets for tuning for 292. https://dcmotive.com/products/keihin-38mm-pwk38-carburetor A few options there. Pick from the picklist midway in the screen then recheck the price at the top to see the cost. http://https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/599a7976579fb3a4cb84b290/1598872758005-DBMBCZEJCL1P7EHCJJRE/Carb+tuner+kit.jpg?format=1500w |
Title: Re: Murray's VM36 Post by SpamyToo on 02/27/23 at 08:34:57 Youll still either need to modify your cable or buy a new one. |

Title: Re: Murray's VM36 Post by Dave on 02/28/23 at 04:40:26 WOW! That sure is a lot of pink hoses! I can see that I would be capping the duplicate vents, and using "T"s to merge a few hoses together....and installing some black or clear hose to replace the pink stuff. |
Title: Re: Murray's VM36 Post by J Mac on 02/28/23 at 15:00:45 Little Pink Hoses, babe, for you and me . . . |
Title: Re: Murray's VM36 Post by Smith2 on 02/28/23 at 20:42:12 I've used the kit and it works well. That being said, knowing what I know now I would have gotten it from Lancer. At the time this was new to me and the Murry's was much easier to purchase. |
