Good evening everyone, I bought a nice 1994 LS 650. I live in Italy and I wanted to know if the model in question suffers from the starter motor gear problems like the previous ones. Any other issues to check? the bike has 16000 miles. Thank you

Greetings , Models 96 and later have the updated starter gears. With some work newer gears can be adapted to work. At 16000 k on the clock you should be replacing cam chain tensioner and can also develop an oil leak at cyl head. See market place , then see Versey , he’s got the stuff. So welcome , help yourself to marketplace and the Tech section. You’re in the right place and heading the right direction. Get a manual.

the timing chain is not making any noise at the moment. Do you recommend that I change it anyway?

It’s the tensioner that comes apart. I would just get one from Versey and replace it. It’s cheap insurance against a failure and severe engine damage. Check the tech section and read about it.

Hello ! I dismount the entire engine and buy new basket set . I Need tò buy new timing chain , i see DID chain but i canti find the exact code . On eBay i see no brand timing chain but i have fear tò buy ..

the chain doesn't have a master link so you have to buy a specific chain from the oem supplier

When you get the new chain, drop it in a container of oil.
