Title: Burn pits
Post by MnSpring on 07/29/22 at 08:37:58

A yep,  the  (Told what to do) Media, with the  DFI UL FDS are at it again for the midterms.

Re; GOP voted down the bill, NOT because it helped Veterans,
I was because it contained a  $278.5 billion cost, funded through what the UL, DFI, FDS say is 'mandatory spending', which are using programs like Social Security.
Then they have the balls to call SS a, entitlement program, which EVERYONE that  was FORCED to pay into it will say,  IT IS NOT A entitlement program

But hey, that's what the UL, DFI, FDS, Socialist, do best, and more than anyone else.

It is an Entitlement Program based off of the English language and US law, not personal opinions of what "entitlement" means.

US Entitlement Programs are not dependent on Congress to appropriate money every fiscal year in order for qualified humans to receive their Social Security checks.  They are "entitled" to Social Security by contributing 40 "quarters" of eligible earnings automatically.

It's The Entitlement Program, because we who paid in Are Entitled to that money.

Unlikely the Entitlement Programs that are using Identity as qualifications to make people Entitled. It's the wrong usage of the word entitled that causes the conversation about Entitlement Programs to get complicated.
Is. WIC a wrongly labeled program? Is it even Considered an Entitlement?
As far as I'm concerned, SS and WIC are actually entitlements.
I'm betting someone has another program or three that are entitlements, by definition, because I doubt I've remembered everything.

I'm NOT sure WIC is in agreement with the definition of entitlement. Probably not.
Unemployment IS an Entitlement, your employer pays into THAT program, a percentage of your earnings. An argument could be made that the employees are the ones paying into the program, because if the boss wasn't forced to pay into it, you would be paid more. Some program takes money from the employees and matching from the employer,, I don't remember which one.

WIC is not an Entitlement Program as it is funded annually through the appropriations process.

Unemployment Insurance is an Entitlement Program.

Yes,because the people who need it paid into it. The employer has to pay into that program a percentage of the employee's wages.

If I remember correctly there is a program where the employee has a percentage of their wages taken and the employer pays the same.

Is that SS? I'm pretty sure that exists but I'm not remembering what program that is.

Social Security is deducted at 6.2 percent of wages up to the taxable maximum of $147,000 for both the employer and the employee.

Self employed like myself pay 12.4%.

More deflection.

Turning the fact that the UL DFI FDS are yelling and screaming the the GOP is not voting for a bill 'for Veterans' (Inferring they Hate Veterans) and it is really the fact that the FDS want to use $278.5 billion of SS Money.

Eegore  turned it into
personal opinions of what "entitlement" means.

Because of, 'does 'entitlement' mean';
A FORCED taking of money, then not giving it back in full with interest.

Or funds taken from the same people paying the above,
then GIVING it to people,
who simply say, Gimme, Gimme, Gimme.

Just like the J6 fiasco, because MIDTERMS !

HEY, Look,  A  FISH Pond !!!!!

"Then they have the balls to call SS a, entitlement program, which EVERYONE that  was FORCED to pay into it will say,  IT IS NOT A entitlement program"

It is an Entitlement Program.  Plenty of humans that pay into it consider it an Entitlement Program because by law, and English language it is.

Hate Veterans, don't hate Veterans, take the money, do not take the money, it's still an Entitlement Program.  Besides, no matter what you claim, people that do not pay into Social Security do not collect Social Security payments.  The US government borrows from SS, but as of 2021 has always paid it back.

I understand why there would be debate as to Mandatory Funds being re-allocated to Discretionary, but I'm not clear why it is such an issue the other way around.

Either way I'd do away with a lot of the VA spending on the disabled and allocate more towards recruiting.
