Title: Rotella oil shortage
Post by ckahleer on 01/20/22 at 10:10:10

T4 15w-40 is out of stock at all my local Walmarts.
Amazon is scalping it at $80.00 a gallon.
Did Shell stop making it, or is this a supply chain issue?
What's the next cheapest MA rated oil?

We had this discussion a while ago.

Not sure of the exact cause.  I was able to order it online and have it delivered to my local Tractor Supply....I don't see that option available on the TSC website currently.

A few weeks later I was able to buy 2.5 gallon jugs at my local Walmart, and a gallon at the Meijer store.

If you can't find it locally....you might have to order it online for pickup at that store.

T4 is available to me locally in both 5q and 2.5 gal containers.

T6 is available in 2.5 gal containers - and is on sale to boot. If there was a shortage it wouldn’t be on sale. Likely it’s in short supply because it’s on sale.

I'm in East Texas.  Up until recently there was zero Rotella to be had anywhere.  Then on Tuesday, I walk into my local Oreilley's, and see a WHOLE PALLET of Rotella T4 Triple Protection 15w40.  It was stacked chest high.

It was just sitting there, in the middle of the store, like those guys had just killed the biggest buck and hung it in their front yard or something :).

I should have snapped a pic.  Maybe I'll swing by and lunch today and get a picture. It was beautiful.

Maybe try boating supplies and marine stores. Rotella is often the a recommended brand after both Yanmar and Volvo's own brand for marine diesels. It is off season, they may have it in stock.
