Title: Getting keys made.
Post by Evanswv on 12/30/21 at 12:22:39

I just recently bought a Savage, and the previous owner had only the main key, and only one of them. He said that he tried to have a key made somewhere, and they wouldn't do it. He said that I could probably get a set from Suzuki by giving them the VIN, which doesn't make much sense to me, because the VIN is visible for anyone to see . Have any of you had keys made at a Hardware store, or Walmart ?

I don't know about VIN but if you have the key code you can get it done.
If it's not on the key... a letter followed by several numbers, it might be on a black strip on the underside of the ig switch.

The fork lock is a different key, but it's useless, don't bother.

The ig key should work the tool box, tank and helmet lock.

There should be a link in the tech section on keys.
