Title: New mirrors and headlight Post by och on 12/21/21 at 15:22:56 I thought I'd share this. The stock factory mirrors on my S40 were useless as the handlebars are so narrow. I found some nice bar end mirrors, they are nicely positioned and just the right size. Huge improvement over stock. I also installed Denali M5 LED headlight, so much brighter than the stock halogen, love it! http://https://i.imgur.com/knKlZyk.jpg http://https://i.imgur.com/e4t7O9i.jpg |

Bought them from ebay, they are of no particular brand, but seem very nice and quality made. https://www.ebay.com/itm/203194262074 |
Title: Re: New mirrors and headlight Post by ckahleer on 12/22/21 at 17:18:23 Are these mirrors convex, that reduce reflection size. Are "objects in mirror closer than they appear." |

Yes, but not as convex as the small round bar end mirrors. These are just slightly more convex than stock. |

Title: Re: New mirrors and headlight Post by TBR125 on 12/26/21 at 15:44:25 That looks great! Was it a plug and play fit or require some modifications? I commute after dark and the stock low beam leaves me blind in all the tight curves. |

Completely plug and play, but if you're going to upgrade, might want to go for JW Speaker adaptive headlight, it has additional LEDs and a lean sensor to eluminate into curves. https://youtu.be/qB-rMk5gXy4 |

Yeah, its not a cheap light, you can probably buy just as good of a light on ebay/amazon for under $100, just look for 5-3/4 LED lights. I originally had this Denali light on my V Star 950, but I am getting a JW Speaker adaptive light for it, so I put this one on the trusty little S40. A modern LED light really transforms the look of the bike IMO. |
