Title: Tiny solid cylinder under clutch cover
Post by Matt Cremeens on 10/14/21 at 08:36:21

So I found this tiny solid cylinder that fell out while I was replacing clutch cover gasket and have no idea where it came from?  :o I can’t find any points where it sits as a guide or anything! Referred to manual but no avail. Any ideas? Thanks

Sorry forgot to mention this is a 2005 ls650 if that helps anything.

It appears to be #18 in this breakdown. The pin that locks the oil pump drive gear to the clutch basket. Without it the oil pump wont turn.

I pulled clutch basket and this is what I found. Looks to be welded together.  Is it possible it went here and they left in the case by accident? I don’t know anything about bikes so this is a cheap project I bought to tinker with.

Yeah, that looks like the pin.
I don't know any reason it couldn't be welded together instead of pinned.
