Title: Not shifting from 2nd to 3rd
Post by Wesleyp53 on 10/07/21 at 19:28:00

Hello all I have a 2017 with 1200 miles and randomly the bike doesn't shift from 2nd to 3rd, most of the time if I release the shifter and try again it shifts, sometimes however it takes 3-4 tries before it shifts.  Just wondering if anyone has run into a similar problem.  Thanks

check the connecting rod between the shifter and the arm coming out of the case.  it should be straight.

check the shifter for ease of motion, it should move easily.

also, the arm coming out of the case should be pointing straight down.
if it's canted either it may be causing the problem.

it could also be your shift technique.  holding a little pressure on the shifter in the direction you want to go and then squeezing the clutch should get you a quick and easy shift.

Have ridden numerous different motorcycles, however I don't seem to have the problem shifting using your suggestion.  Thanks for the advice.
