Title: Grease needs between rotor and stator assembly? Post by kylejang on 03/04/21 at 09:49:57 Hi all. I disassembled generator cover for polishing and found out between rotor and stator has some kind of silver color thing applied. I cleaned up. Do I need apply some kind of special grease or paste when I reassemble? Please let me know. Thank you always. |

It could be silver grade anti-seize? Does anyone knows? |

There is nothing that is "applied" to those parts. Anything that is on those has come from the combustion byproducts or engine wear. I wouldn't worry about it as long as it is very fine and there are no "chunks" of metal. The magnetic field could be pulling small particles out of the oil. |

It's possible that someone used never-seize during reassembly wand didn't clean it up well. I would not spray brake cleaner on the surface. I'd spray the cleaner on a rag (lightly) and wipe it clean. |
