I read a fascinating rationale behind this. If Trump goes to the White House after he wins and leftist scum gather to riot and charge the White House, the Secret Service is authorized (and perhaps obliged) to use lethal force. If they’re in a hotel, the local police could fall back and isolate the Secret Servcie in an unsecured building. If a bunch of your nut job friends charge 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, they might get lit up.
