Let's ask this question, instead of looking at how the GOP wants to not count mail ballots. They have sent their lawyers in to appeal to the SC to not allow extra time to count mail ballots. Or to refuse extensions due to large numbers of pandemic mailed votes.

Then Trump wants the election to be called on the day, and not count mailed ballots at all. Although this would never happen.

Instead let's ask the rhetorical question as to why the GOP is so intent on not counting ballots. It's a rhetorical question because everyone knows the answer, but they don't want to talk about it.

Do you think the GOP would still try to not count ballots if they thought it would favour them? Of course not. They've said out loud that the more people who vote the worse it is for them.

The irony of limiting the time it takes to certify mailed ballots is that the biggest hold up is in making sure they are legal votes. In other words it takes extra time to satisfy voters that fraudulent votes have not been counted.

If voter fraud is such a worry then why does the GOP try to limit the time allowed to verify votes. Why is the GOP so anti democracy. Yes, of course they know democracy is bad for them, but they can always change their platform so they reflect the will of the electorate? Crazy idea I know.

This post on law fare blog, explains why we won't see an election night result overall. But we will in Florida though, which is interesting because Trump cannot win without Florida.

Doesn't seem to be any complaints about cheating here, where the GOP is furiously trying to have 120,000 votes thrown out.
