Some FBI agents got an insurance policy because they thought what Obama had them working on was illegal. What does that underwriting process look like? How’s that interview go?

It was most likely Legalshield, or at least something similar.

A lot of LEO use it.

What is “a lot”? 25%, 50%?

Do they typically buy this when investigating non-violent crimes such as alleged in this case?

To me, a lot represents the number of LEO I personally know and not a statistical breakdown of evaluated departments.

Most, that I know, are given the option for programs such as this when they begin their employments, some, that I know, get it while in training at an Academy.

As for getting it when Trump/Obama says something, yes I have seen that. Mostly due to one's desire to keep their job yet have legal coverage and ride it out until the next person is in charge. This however, for LEO I know, is very uncommon.

I think the point is they FElt a need for insurance,, because the task SOMEONE had laid on them looked sketchy,,
