Title: Blew a fuse !
Post by zipidachimp on 09/04/20 at 21:04:49

Personally, and on the bike. Stopped at McD's for a coffee after a ride. Bike stalled as I put down the sidestand. Later, dead, nada!
Pulled the seat, tools, fuses. Without a screwdriver I'd still be trying to pry open the fuseholder and pry out a fuse. What a frickin' pain!
Q. what prompted the fuse to blow? This seems to be an annual problem, at least once a year!
Fortunately, I've been inside my other bike so often it only cost me 10 minutes.
Note: carry tools and fuses on all rides !!!
Cheers!  >:(

Make sure your fuse contacts are clean, and use dialectic grease. Sometimes fuses blow from getting hot by a poor connection even thou current is well below the fuse rating.
If you have access to an amp meter, remove the fuse and hook it up. Max current should never be more than 80% of fuse rating. typically around 50%.
