Title: Starting Help
Post by jasbmo on 04/26/20 at 00:08:31

Hi All, been a while since I've posted...this time has given me a great opportunity to work on the Savage. I'm close to "finishing" the build, and will create another thread once I'm complete (thinking another 2 months). In the meantime a photo from yesterday... ;)

I tried starting the bike yesterday, and battery was at 12.02Vs, and heard this clicking sound. I captured a video of it here: https://youtu.be/tOFnbxiX8zI

Sounds terrible, and maybe I shouldn't have tried it 3 times.

What is the core issue and what do I need to do? Sincerely appreciate all the help from the past, present, and future.  :)

I think your battery is dead.  A fully charged battery should read about 12.7 volts.  The audio on your video also sounds (to me) like a dead battery.  Throw a charge on it.  Make sure it will hold about 12.6 to 12.7 volts.

Slick scooter.  Nice job.

Ah! Ok I'll start with the battery...obvious first step and apologies for the gratuitous post. Thought at 12V was sufficient.

Appreciate the help, and the comments! Yes, Volvo XC70 station wagon ;D I know my build is not for everyone, purists, traditionalists, true riders.

Hey, Id never BUILD that,, but I can appreciate it and see the labor and quality of the build,,Id Ride it and see what thats like, But, I GOTTA be able to conveniently load stuff and go..
If I needed a bike just for riding and no hauling,, yeah,,
Its good looking
