Title: Oil leak
Post by gayla28 on 04/18/20 at 14:37:36

I have a 2006 s40 with Harley exhaust and air box removed and stage 3 work done on the carb. Bike hasn’t been ran in a while about a year. Cleaned carb put in new jets. Bike fires right up I back fire runs and rides great. I get home after a 10 mile break in ride and right side of the rear tire covered in oil. But can’t seem to find where it’s coming from speedo cable area is dry and so is the drain plug area. Any ideas as to where to look ?
Thank you

Seems like a substantial leak would leave a mess on the are from behind it..
There's a little hose that dangles from the air box, it's Supposed to be capped, and you're Supposed to drain it every oil change.
Have you checked your oil to see how much isnt there anymore?

No air box anymore. And this is a lot of oil.

What did you do with the crankcase vent hose that comes out the upper right corner of the head?
Did you remove the squished up lump of what looks like a pot scrubber?
