Title: Headlight and drive belt Post by RedBronco on 04/14/20 at 12:59:27 I am currently restoring a 95' Savage for myself. I need the drive belt and the a new Headlight as mine works but is a dingy color when off and on from being I assume 25 years old now. Best place to get the factory type headlight and drive belt? Thanks |

Title: Re: Headlight and drive belt Post by RedBronco on 04/14/20 at 13:41:18 Thanks for the heads up. I had not taken it apart yet as I just noticed it being dull when on. I bet you're right. Also how can I order your timing chain Tensioner modification? |

Title: Re: Headlight and drive belt Post by srinath on 04/15/20 at 07:21:16 I've been experimenting with LED headlights on my other bike - my bolt. However the savage sitting right next to it begged to be part of the experiment. So I fooled around with it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-6-5-Inch-40W-LED-Round-Motorcycle-Projector-Headlight-for-Harley-Sportster/264302595127?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20180105095853%26meid%3Da1a3aab3af514fcbb6a17bd3d010ed15%26pid%3D100903%26rk%3D15%26rkt%3D20%26mehot%3Dnone%26sd%3D401735258529%26itm%3D264302595127%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2510209&_trksid=p2510209.c100903.m5276 If you drilled holes in the bottom of that and used a 1/2" rubber spacer that headlight will bolt right in shell and all. Replaces the plastic shell with metal and gets you a nice bright LED. Make sure you aim it correctly though, I had an issue like that in my bolt but I was able to adjust the spacer length and get it sorted out - but its a 3 point mount from the rear on that bike, I still feel I could have done better on that too. Its got those ears its supplied with - but IMHO - those look stupid. But its useful to position it and aim it before drilling the holes - but your call. The ears will be fine on a savage, the bolts forks are larger than the ears will fit. Cool. Srinath. |
