But Dershowitz made the point which I completely understand now. A political impeachment is the equivalent of “a vote of no confidence” which is a somewhat regular occurrence in Britain.  (And for you Star Wars fans, the method by which the emperor took control!) The founders and Hamilton expressly objected to that concept.
