Title: Steny Hoyer's sober eloquence.
Post by eau de sauvage on 12/19/19 at 22:33:32

How could any American not be persuaded by the sheer strength of the argument and the methodical reasoning, just the vapours from his speech are enough to completely dissolve all the screeching dissembling from the Grahams, the Gohmerts, the Collins' and the like.

He speaks with  genuine gravitas and authority.

Yup, Steny, apparently its short for Sternum. Much like Jeb was short for Jebra.

No one doubts their eloquence, we only question them because of their bias. Much like every other fool of a career politician. BTW when both sides are viewed as unethical and corrupt as was very much the case in 2016, they leave themselves ripe for picking by "any" outsider. The 2 party system has that big caveat, a multiple party system can throw candidates with no experience and no qualifications into the fore like happens in India all the time. Seriously the democratic side is going to have to be bailed by Trump 2 (Bloomberg)

Cool.
Srinath.

I suspect Steny's sober eloquence was put on a shelf when Obama and Hilary got our Ambassador killed by ignoring request for security so it didn't appear to conflict with their public stance that everything was fine. I likewise doubt he spoke eloquently after the whole affair was blamed on a video and then government agencies went after the creator of that video. But.....let's impeach Trump for high crimes and misdemeanors,  which at least didn't get anyone killed....

Well what an absolutely classic throw off. You couldn't have listened to his speech which specifically addressed the issue of bias. Therefore to whom should your accusation of bias be directed other than to your good self.

Good little robot, how could I have ever guessed that you would trot out 'you hate trump', as a response. Even if I do 'hate Trump', how the fcuk does that have anything to do with the meaning of the words uttered by Steny Hoyer. How are you so incredibly stupid that your only comment can be the non sequitur 'you hate trump'. I know you can't see it but the very fact that you present that as an answer to my post precludes you from being a person who would even be able to understand what Hoyer has said.

Politicians are post turtles mate, in every country. They're there because someone put them there. Be it Buffet, Gates, Soros, or Kock bros, or T boone Pickens, Murdock or whoever.

Sober eloquence - again - I'll grant you that, not ever gonna ever never ever say he wasn't sober (unless he gets arrested for drunk driving) nor would I say he wasn't eloquent. OK Happy now.

What he's saying is biased BS, he is saying it soberly eloquent way. awesome. Happy now.

Much like Greta Thunberg - I'll not dispute the science, the solution costs a crap ton of $$$ for the lowest wage workers and another crap ton in infrastructure in taxes all for a huge backward step, while a step forward costs no one nothing, in fact it saves a lot of people a lot of $$$ and the rest will find a huge savings in time and in fact $$$ and co2 in indirect savings.

Cool.

@srinath

What he's saying is biased BS

I have distilled this out of your post, but I am unable to find any more reference as to what particularly is bullshit.

To paraphrase WS Gilbert, you said nothing in particular, and you said it very well.

You're just upset because you're an idiot and the more you post standard GOP bollox, like 'you hate trump' and then without any apparent sense of irony, you accuse me of 'reiterating', the more you dig yourself into a hole from which you may never return. Or perhaps you just wanted to work a grown up word into your puerile, vacant clichés.

And don't take this personally or even politically.
I am in it for the jokes.
Trump jokes, Pelosi jokes, AOC jokes, Steny Hoyer jokes, Rupert Murdock jokes, Kock brothers jokes, Illegal alien jokes, injun jokes - its all jokey jokes to me (sung to the tune of its still rock and roll to me)

I'm not getting involved in democrap politics at this time, too much railroading yet to happen. Get involved early and you can get screwed multiple times.
I'm sometimes on the ground feeling the effect and try to trace back to who "screwed it up" or who "made it better" The former usually is the design, the latter is the unintended consequence.

Right now I can not find an illegal for the life of me to build me something I want, but I also am benefitting from a tight labor market. So looks like I got both sides of that.

Cool.

It's more than that Serow we are all the same distance from each other on this site. pg's comment just shows his utter ignorance of how the world works and what the inter webs is in relation to the social structure of society. The virtual communities on the internet has turned the entire world into a global community.

Easy now Bot your going into unfriendly territory.  It is all well in good if the comments are in lock-step with your opinion.

Yet, I was on the receiving end of:
'How are you so incredibly stupid'
'pg's comment just shows his utter ignorance'

Are you sure you want to go down this road?

The problem with having a politics section in any site is that everyone on the planet is ready with examples of how whoever POTUS is, is screwing up. The whole world is hyper aware of trumps tweets or Obama's awesome use of the word calculus when he's not differentiating or integrating something - and most of the US is clueless about Australian or Indian or Pakisthani or other island/nation - Hovv darre you vee is sveeden not norvay, no sveeden.

Like we even care.

So discussing politics with one of them "foreigners" is an exercise in trying to punch a mosquito in the dark. They know all about US politics, we know nothing about theirs.

Cool.

@srinath, the problem is in actual fact that most people are unable to think clearly or (more probable but harder for me to understand), they deliberately don't care to think or reason.

So discussing politics with one of them "foreigners" is an exercise in trying to punch a mosquito in the dark. They know all about US politics, we know nothing about theirs.

That's an interesting take srinath, because if US politics is being discussed why would someone need to know about politics in another country? Is that so one can "argue" like MnSpring, where I make a political point about democracy or the American repbublic but Mn after looking up Australia is now better equipped to counter the point by saying something disparaging.

Or have I misunderstood you?

I don't know what Mnspring was, but for example, Australia dropping leaflets over srilanka, or singaport shaving visa over stays heads and chaining them up and loading them onto planes as well as aussies making fun of their PM's for years and now suddenly they want to point at tent camps, or POTUS, as in - 100% stupidity is spread evenly across all countries. Discussing US politics once again misses the fact that we're dealing with people and it is due to how people treat each other that this can even happen, and aussies are no different than singaporeans than US - people and politicians.

Point you're missing is - you people are no different than US people or Indian people and neither are your politicians.

Cool.
Srinath.
