Title: Need Helmet Lock To Match Post by Bender on 10/27/19 at 08:42:22 My 2009 came without a helmet lock, and Im tired of carrying my helmet with me or leaving it on the ground under my bike. How can I get a helmet lock that matches my ignition and tool box lock, without replacing all three? When I look on ronayers, there's only 1 helmet lock you can buy, not lock code specific. |
Title: Re: Need Helmet Lock To Match Post by verslagen1 on 10/27/19 at 09:19:54 I have a few, if you tell me the letter on your key, I'll check to see if there's a match. You'll still need a locksmith to match the code. |
Title: Re: Need Helmet Lock To Match Post by Serowbot on 10/27/19 at 10:10:33 I've never locked my helmet... in 20 years it's never been stolen... You need an uglier helmet... ;D |
Title: Re: Need Helmet Lock To Match Post by batman on 10/27/19 at 11:10:47 They didn't use lock-tite on the screws at the factory mine fell of after the first week (25 years ago) but they were placed in a bad position anyway ,use of any bags made them unusable .I'd look at after market , even Walmart carries them. but if you don't have a real expensive helmet it won't walk , I haven't lost one either , it just sits on my passenger back rest. Most people in the US are over 50 and don't need their butt kicked by a "biker" and most people have the sense to look, but not touch ,when it comes to motorcycles. |
Title: Re: Need Helmet Lock To Match Post by Bender on 10/27/19 at 14:40:33 As luck would have it, my helmet got stolen today... Verslagen, I have the original Suzuki key, but there is no number on it. Where should the number be? |

Title: Re: Need Helmet Lock To Match Post by Bender on 10/29/19 at 06:38:20 Yeah it was just a basic black helmet, I guess black is too flashy. @verslagen, can you show me where I should see the letter code on my key? |
Title: Re: Need Helmet Lock To Match Post by justin_o_guy2 on 10/29/19 at 09:10:04 Firearms locks have a long, flexible neck. Saddlebags make using the helmet lock impossible. I lock my helmet to the handlebars and set it on the tank. It's not upside down waiting for some idiot to dump a coke in. |

It's usually on the shaft next to the plastic grip. |
Title: Re: Need Helmet Lock To Match Post by Bender on 11/03/19 at 08:03:08 Showing front and back side of both my keys, I do not see any letter on the shaft. Am I missing something? |

Title: Re: Need Helmet Lock To Match Post by verslagen1 on 11/03/19 at 09:25:27 I have 1 key cut like that, it's a D keyway. I have 4 helmet locks with that keyway, but no keys. the back can be taken off and rekeyed by a locksmith. |
Title: Re: Need Helmet Lock To Match Post by Bender on 11/03/19 at 16:56:25 Thanks verslagen. Would the key need to be modified, or the lock? If the key needs to be modified, then it wouldn't still work with my ignition correct? |

The Lock, you modify the key, it won't work in the ignition. It's easy, the lock has a bunch of wafers, the locksmith swaps them around or replaces them with others. $10 including shipping |
