Title: Reality TV
Post by Serowbot on 10/18/19 at 14:33:49

Trump tries to be Maury in the White House.... SMH :-/

Trump Tried to Stage a Reality TV-Style Encounter Between a Grieving Couple and the Woman Responsible for Their Son’s Death

President Trump has demonstrated repeatedly that he considers his adventures as the leader of the free world to be part of some sort of elaborate reality TV show. On Tuesday, he saw an opportunity for some big-league ratings by exploiting a grieving British couple whose 19-year-old son was killed this summer. The plan for this particular episode was to invite the couple to the White House for… [pause for the drumroll] a surprise visit with the woman responsible for their son’s death. It didn’t go so well.

An easily collaborated story, widely documented public record: the  parents visited the White House, report being told the killer of their son was waiting in a near-by room.   Their account may be read here:

First, it's a ridiculous charge.
Then, there is the public report contradicting it.

So, reason, and facts dictate what I believe.
Lefties, ehh, notsomuch..

This is part and parcel of the self deluded, not bothering to qualify sources- or even identify a source.  At least 3 witnessed coloberate the account, and there is video documentation of the Dunn's and their counsel entering the White House; there is the White House visitor log nominating the parties accounted for.

There's nothing reasonable about discounting the Dunn's testament- only prejudiced, incredible rationalizations.

I knew this already

few minutes into the meeting, Trump said: “We have her here in the White House” – referring to Sacoolas.

They refused to meet her, holding to their position that they would sit down with Sacoolas, but not on US soil and only with lawyers and other mediators present.

“Radd said to the president: ‘No, Mr President, our terms are we meet in the UK,’” Tim Dunn said. “And that’s when Mr O’Brien said: ‘She is never going back to the UK.’

“He was quite abrupt and sharp with his tone.”

Trump put his hand up “to make [O’Brien] calm down”, Tim Dunn said.

“He was just very aggressive with his nature of speak[ing], made himself look as big and tall as he possibly could, sat straight bolt upright and forward,” Charles said of O’Brien.

The characterization is Bullshit..
But
Lefties

And while Trump is a former reality television host, Charles said his suggestion that they meet with Sacoolas didn’t come across as him attempting a made-for-TV moment.

And yet,, lefties can pretend otherwise...

"The characterization is Bullshit.."

JoG is correct here.  The inference is that Trump attempted to create some sort of Reality TV moment when the direct quotes from the family involved clearly state otherwise.

Our boy Sew here has a habit of posting partisan articles that are flatly inaccurate as fact on a regular basis. I recall the 7000 dairies in Wisconsin going out of business in the first half of this year. I recall the articles that came out after the chief of staff was inaccurately quoted as saying Trump did in fact hold up air until an investigation was done on Biden and now this which I've not read up on because it didn't seem real to begin with.

Maybe you ought to turn the channel up or down a few stations or try a few other WWW sites before posting something. Just saying.

Zero honest consideration to be had when infatuated with prejudice- apropos of the disingenuous conceit of all “reality” TV, really, so labeling the obviously synthetic.

The denial of record here is gobsmacking.   Mick Mulvaney‘s initial statement was clear- he was even prompted for explicit clarity; his declaration wasn’t misrepresented, as any viewer can easily check.  Only when the damage was clear did the Chief of Staff attempt to distance himself from his own words- yet another Trump Administration attempt to tell us we have not seen and heard what we have seen and heard.   Then you sycophants-at-large parrot that line, shut off your brain, and brick off any little access to whatever integrity you once had.
