He suggested that maybe they could do it at Camp David. I think that's a terrific idea. All the big shots can fly into Dulles, helo or carpool out to Catoctin Mountain, stay in little cabins in the Maryland woods guarded by a bunch of Marines with no sense of humor, have their meeting and fly the F*ck home. Maybe if they have any spare time they can do some fishing in Little Hunting Creek. Eisenhower used to like to fly fish there. I've been to Catoctin Mountain State park, which is in the vicinity. Pretty place if you like being out in the country, doing your own cooking, and sleeping in a tent. I don't think most of the folks who are going to be attending this shindig are much into roughing it though ;D I suspect that they are more the 5 star resort crowd. |

Maryland Rte. 77 between US Rte 15 in Thurmont Md. and Md Rt 64 in Smithburg Md runs past Camp David and is an incredible motorcycle road. It's a very twisty two lane with a lot of elevation changes with mostly woods on either side. I've ridden it in both directions and it's very pretty and a lot of fun. If anyone happens to be in the area - it isn't far from the Gettysburg Battlefield Park, and only about an hour and a half North of the Washington DC area, it's definitely a worthwhile trip. |
