Not content with rose colored blinders, seek out a pablum lullaby to drown out any stray bits of reality that threaten to penetrate.   “Nothing to worry about... all your mistakes... all the harm.... meaningless... sleep... sleep... there's a good boy.”

Don’t believe what you see.  Don’t believe what you hear.   Everything is super.

I must have misunderstood one of your post, you posted earlier....

You said you were here to dialogue, etc....
Have meaningful exchange.

I guess I assumed.
Sleep well.

Don’t believe what you see..

Like
Record LOW unemployment.

Wanna see where it sux?
Look at the restaurant industry where lefties drove minimum wage to fifteen dollars an hour.
Ready to admit that telling employers they must pay employees more per hour than the employee makes in profits in that hour is a recipe for bankruptcy?

Yeah, a couple of places the wonder of it all were overstated. But generally, that video is right, and the people who insist we aren't better off today are refusing to believe what is there to be seen..
Unless they are looking at the decay of the big cities where ignoring laws has brought illegal and homeless people in,, and syringes and human Sh!t are the new landscaping themes..
You people need to look at what IS and then ask yourselves
What policies I endorse have led to this?

Then, instead of insisting that you have the solution, and people like me need to listen to you, maybe consider that the solution was what you were told already..

Remember what it was like BEFORE you made it better?
Let's go back and do what Works.
Replacing what works with what Sounds good, doesn't work.

Always a bit humorous when, after pointing out how much better life is today, objections come from someone whose lifestyle would look almost sciencefiction-like to someone from a only a few generations ago.

Prosperity blinds reality.

It's stated a few times "On Average" which, to me, does not mean everybody, but the average of humans.

There are multiple studies over multiple decades that do indicate we are healthier, less likely to die from violent means and, in the US, have safer more reliable workplaces than in the past.

So if by "better" one means improved on the average, then yes, the average human lives a more secure and healthier lifestyle, even though many do not and still die violently, by curable disease, and are employed in deadly environments.

Well, it certainly did when Obama was in office.....

Unemployment went from 7.8% (peaking at 10%) down to 4.8%

The economy gained a net 11.6 million jobs.

Average weekly earnings for all workers were up 4.0 percent after inflation.

After-tax corporate profits also set records, as did stock prices. The S&P 500 index rose 166 percent.

The number of people lacking health insurance dropped by 15 million.

Wind and solar power increased 369 percent. Coal production declined 38 percent. Carbon emissions from burning fossil fuel dropped 11 percent.

In fiscal year 2015, the deficit was $438 billion, a drop of 69 percent from FY 2009

Just a few facts about that "terrible" Obama.....

"Thanks Captain Obvious! Like I've said, you gotta be a blast at parties..."

Like I've said, I don't go to parties.

"Don’t believe what you see.  Don’t believe what you hear.   Everything is super."

Nobody said "Everything" is "Super" is basically what I was saying.

Comparatively speaking, yes, everything is super.

Mark, I think he is figuratively saying.....nothing is absolute  :-?

"Comparatively speaking, yes, everything is super."

I don't agree that all things are super by comparison of previous timeframes.  Some things such as child sexual abuse and sex trafficking are worse due to the advent of the internet.  Worse, to me, means frequency, continuity of abuse and volume.  I'd say along with that adolescent social cruelty is at an all-time high due to social media tools.

But as the video indicated, many typical issues of the average person, primarily in the US, are better.

Are you kidding?
There are more politicians and lawyers, so things have got to be worse.   :-?

Lotta truth in that. Which kinda means if left alone for the most part, we all manage to move forward fairly well.  politicians and lawyers have to justify their existence.  in order to do so, if there is no natural demand for their service, they have to create one.
