Title: Trump's bizarre letter to Erdogan
Post by eau de sauvage on 10/17/19 at 00:13:26

This is utterly shifted into cartoon land now. One of these letters is real...

Trump is pretty much the exhaust port of the savage.

President Trump is plainly a moron. The Archie Bunkers of America elected a fantasy version of themselves.   The consequences are exactly what we’ve all expected- including his supporters.   They resent that their lazy bigotry hasn't been accorded unearned respect, and this is their revenge on a society that refuses to celebrate their mediocrity.   They see the damage- and are delighted.

The topic here is what the President “sounds like”.   Understandably, that topic doesn’t interest you- you’d rather focus on my recognition of the problem than the problem itself.

Trump is a dangerous fool.   It's not really complex- any honest reading of that letter reveals Trump to be an incompetent dullard.

Like many people, I seek an explanation for your behavior, am at a loss to find any that reflect well on you.   Defending the damage Trump has perpetrated, you enable it- and are culpable.

You lefties can pretend that isn't exactly what he should have done.
That's exactly what needed to happen.
Or should he have just invited the guy to kill people?

How about
You write the guy a letter,,
Post HERE what You would have done.

The letter is idiotic; if you can’t perceive that, there are more profound issues than I can help with.  I could explain general and specific blunders, but you've demonstrated a lack of good faith regard.

Our highest general warned Trump slaughter would be the result of withdrawing in this way.  By ignoring the clear consequences, Trump invited the slaughter.    Most people don't have trouble understanding this- if you need help, feel free to ask pertinent questions, and I'll do my best to assist.   Frankly, I doubt your problem is cognition.

It is interesting, perhaps you can answer?

What did the former Governor of Minn, 'Sound Like' ?
What does the Mayor of Mpls MN, 'Sound Like' ?
What does Ilhan Omar, 'Sound Like' ?

I fully believe if one would add all three of them together,
Trump, would Still, 'Sound' Better !

You seem to be confused- the political distaste you have for any other actor in no way mitigates the damage done by Trump, here, now.   Trump is responsible for the letter he penned- not any other.

@Mavigogun, the above reply to you is a template, used by mnspring, and wm, mainly, JoG is more of a mystery, maybe their personalities have resonances like quantum superposition where each of them can morph into t'other.

At any rate, I'll give you a belated welcome to what is a very sad embarrassment on the S40 forum. My first dip into this forum was greeted with instantaneous personal abuse.

While looking like a sh!tshow it is in fact illuminating to see how this putrid little corner of the internets is tolerated by the people who run the forum. By tolerated I mean allowing these trolls a free run.

They are little clones of Trump when it comes to answering anything. They do not. Will not. You may think that there is some way to let these obviously mentally challenged people to express the core of their idea, but there is none.

The reason they will never engage is that the very point of them being on here is specifically to troll the forum, to bury any reasonable post they don't like with the kind of verbiage that Trump rolls out endlessly.

Got that, their imbecile responses *is their very point*

Troops aren't being brought home.... they're going to the Iraq border.
I guess we just moved them to get this shitshow rolling.
Plus,.. he's sending 1,800 more to Saudi Arabia.

Kurds abandoned, ISIS prisoners in enemy hands, Turkey committing genocide, Russia gains a foothold, Iran accelerating nuclear development and attacking Saudi oilfields...
"There, I fixed it" - Trump

I'm glad you see that. Sadly, I can't say the same for you.

Trump is getting us, America, and OUR people out of a situation we had No Business in ..
No, Trump isn't doing what the lefties Said he would do. The Big Outrage WAS
Trump will get us in wars.
He SAID he would not.
He Said he would bring us home.
He's doing what the voters wanted.
He told the guy there would be harsh consequences for doing bad things.
Explain why that disturbs you.

So it appears it only takes 3 hours 14 minutes to declare victory.

By that logic anytime someone says anything negative about Trump, and there is no response within 3 hours 14 minutes, they win.

The letter is dated the same day as the invasion- essentially, it was designed to goad Erdogan into action, distract from rising calls for impeachment.   Trump creates a crisis, then pretends to fix it- it's no different than a gangster breaking your windows at night, then selling protection during the day.   No one is fooled, and there is no expectation of anyone being fooled- they want us to know their capacity... it's part of the shake-down.   Of coarse, none of it works without the Brown Shirts parading through our digital town square, celebrating the criminal as a great leader, letting us know that our neighborhoods have been captured from within.  That is their hope, anyway.

Folks like the trolls here believe they will just slink back under their rock at the turning of the tide, anonymous- but they have been indelibly stained.   Years from now, when asked what they did for our country in this moment, they will look away in shame, or offer a weak lie that no one will believe- including themselves.

"The letter is dated the same day as the invasion-"

Yeah these parameters were set prior to the release or the "letter" but that is just how things get released publicly so people will obviously think changes are made after and not planned before.

In any case it damages our ability to ally with other nations in time of need.  They can just let us fight our own wars from now on.  Which sounds great for those typing safely from the couch at home, but not so great for those out there doing the work.

We went IN there to put that Isis bunch to rest..
That's done.

Wartime alliances are determined by the self interest of the parties involved, nothing else.

The Soviets were our allies in WW2 and our absolute enemy until the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991. I'm sure you can think of lots of other examples.

The Kurds will be fine. They have already hooked up with Russia and Syria. I wouldn't shed any tears for them. They have already moved on and done what they think is in their best interest.

Again easy to say from home.  The Kurds will most likely be of value and be able to create an alliance elsewhere but that does not mean they will be fine.

"Wartime alliances are determined by the self interest of the parties involved, nothing else."

The process of disengagement does influence the perception of US value in future and current negotiations.  I'm not saying we should not leave Syria, I am saying we could have done it through planning and not executive order alone.

This feels like a political move that from a logistics position could have been done in a better way for everyone involved.

Every time we go into the Middle East with armed forces or pull our forces out of a Middle Eastern country, there are members of Congress on both sides who scream Armageddon. The people crying the loudest today were recently quiet when Hopey-Change made troop withdrawls so I don't take anyone too seriously over this. I'll wait and see what happens.

The subject of this thread isn't just these idiotic words-

Dear Mr. President:

Let’s work out a good deal! You don’t want to be responsible for slaughtering thousands of people, and I don’t want to be responsible for destroying the Turkish economy — and I will. I’ve already given you a little sample with respect to Pastor Brunson.

I have worked hard to solve some of your problems. Don’t let the world down. You can make a great deal. General Mazloum is willing to negotiate with you, and he is willing to make concessions that they would never have made in the past. I am confidentially enclosing a copy of his letter to me, just received.

History will look upon you favorably if you get this done the right and humane way. It will look upon you forever as the devil if good things don’t happen. Don’t be a tough guy. Don’t be a fool!

I will call you later.

Sincerely,

Donald Trump

-it's the admission the letter represents:  Trump knew his retreat and abandonment of our allies would result in catastrophe for the Kurds, US stature and regard, and HUGE win for Putin.   The letter was a chest-beating provocation to assure the outcome.

Here, I'll demonstrate:

Dear Mark:

Let’s work out a good change for democracy! You don’t want to be responsible for destroying the Republic, and I don’t want to be responsible for destroying the INCEL community. I’ve already given you a little sample with respect to Harvey Weinstein.

I have worked hard to solve some of your problems. Don’t let the world down. You can make a great change. Nancy Pelosi is willing to negotiate with you, and she is willing to make concessions that they would never have made in the past. I am confidentially enclosing a copy of her letter to me, just received.

History will look upon you favorably if you get this done the right and humane way. It will look upon you forever as a traitor to the Union if good things don’t happen. Don’t be a tough guy. Don’t be a fool!

I will call you later.

Sincerely,

Christopher
