Title: Front Turn Signal Wiring
Post by Tacopimp on 09/26/19 at 18:03:20

I searched but cannot reall get a straight answer, and the wiring diagram for my year doesn't match the turn signal wires.  I took off the old signals and the tape i used to mark off right & left has managed to come off of both sides.  My battery isn't currently hooked up, but I am just trying to figure out which wires are for what right now.  Pics of the wires attached.  I wrote the wire colors on there because they are a little hard to make out from the pic.

So one set of wires have: Grey, Black / White stripe, & Black
Other set: Grey, Black / White stripe, & Green

I know the Black/White stripe on our bikes are always the ground.

1.  So which wire is the turn signal and which is the running light?
2.  Which side is left and which is right?

Thanks in advance!

Gray  wires are the running  lights that come on with the key/headlight (8 watts). the black and green wires are the pos-12v +  suppı to each turn signal (23watts). the black/white stripe are the two ground wires for each light  12v -neg.

Great. Thank you! Any idea which is right or left?

The one that is powered when the switch on the handlebar is set to right, is the right.

I feel like i am on a bad 90s sitcom where there's a 5 year old boy and his grandfather is trying to make a joke. After you and/or the grandfather tells the joke, the 5 year old looks at the camera and does an eye roll.

Green is right.

Not right as in correct but right as opposite left.
A 3 word answer just seemed so.. precise.

LEAVING THE KEY ON TO TEST YOUR LIGHTING FOR EXTENDED TIME ,WITHOUT STARTING THE BIKE CAN OVERHEAT YOUR TCI IGNITION MODULE  AND DESTROY IT -(BIG $$$ )- IT'S BEST TO UNPLUG IT .
