I think Gerrymandering has a fair amount to do with it.  Personally I'd like to see it removed.

Fair amount is not meant to convey any specific percentage but, to me, typically represents a percentage of more than 25% but less than 75%.

I am saying that Gerrymandering is part of the process that legally isolates certain demographics.  Gerrymandering has been called a legal version of prejudice for decades.  Or for those that may be so absorbed exclusively in the words they want to hear from other people:  Gerrymandering is racist.

Gerrymandering is racist.  Gerrymandering is part of the voting process.

So:  I think Gerrymandering has a fair amount to do with it.

"Do with it" is in reference to people saying asking for ID is racist.  "It" meaning ID requirements for voting.

And exactly HOW does gerrymandering make voter id racist?

"And exactly HOW does gerrymandering make voter id racist?"

 It doesn't.

It has been for decades been called legal prejudice, or if one is not capable of accepting verbiage other than what was originally presented: racist.

Gerrymandering is like the great grand dad of the voter racism perception.  So, to me, things related to but not always exactly like a topic can have an influence on the perception of that topic.

Since Gerrymandering has already for many years been considered a tactic to alter, reduce or eliminate minority votes it is similar enough, to me, to be considered a part of the influence that is fueling claims that voter ID laws are racist.

Pardon me for being a bit simple minded
But, I'm unable to grasp ANY possible way to twist the use of identification that is necessary
In So Many Areas of EVERYONE'S life
Regardless of race, and anything else,
But when it's time to vote
Ohhh
That's
Rayciss!
BULLSHIT it's not.
It was the FUKKING black Panthers who made sure to be at the polls, nobody stopped that.
