Title: Hurricanes and ISIS, We're At A Crisis....

Seriously?

The Surprising History to Trump's Suggestion to Nuke Hurricanes

On Sunday, Axios reported that Donald Trump has a rather extreme idea for hurricane preparedness: nuke the storms before they make landfall. Though he reportedly hasn't brought it up since John Bolton took over as national security adviser, the president made similar comments on more than one occasion, according to sources. Per Axios:

During one hurricane briefing at the White House, Trump said, "I got it. I got it. Why don't we nuke them?" according to one source who was there. "They start forming off the coast of Africa, as they're moving across the Atlantic, we drop a bomb inside the eye of the hurricane and it disrupts it. Why can't we do that?" the source added, paraphrasing the president's remarks.

The person briefing the president replied with something along the lines of, "Sir, we'll look into that." Trump followed up by "asking incredulously how many hurricanes the U.S. could handle," which is a reasonable question since the U.S. has more than 6,000 perfectly good nuclear weapons in its arsenal gathering dust. Alternating between first and third person, Trump denied the story on Monday, tweeting,"The story by Axios that President Trump wanted to blow up large hurricanes with nuclear weapons prior to reaching shore is ridiculous. I never said this. Just more FAKE NEWS!"

Oh yeah, trump - call it "fake news" as you do everything.

So then, is this "fake news"? :

Donald Trump threatens to 'release thousands of ISIS fighters into Europe'

Donald Trump has threatened to release thousands of ISIS fighters into Europe if countries don’t agree to take them back.

The US president made the threat as US officials warned that ISIS remains a global threat despite losing swathes of territory it held in Syria and Iraq.

Speaking outside the White House, Mr Trump said: "We have 2,500 ISIS fighters that we want Europe to take...We have thousands of ISIS fighters that we want Europe to take and let's see if they take them.

“And if they don't take them, we'll probably have to release them to Europe."

There are at least 2,000 foreign suspected ISIS fighters and members from Western countries being held in Syria by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) - a US-backed coalition fighting ISIS.

It’s not the first time the US President has used their release to threaten Europe.

In February he tweeted: “The United States is asking Britain, France, Germany and other European allies to take back over 800 ISIS fighters that we captured in Syria and put them on trial. The Caliphate is ready to fall.

“The alternative is not a good one in that we will be forced to release them.......”

Mr Trump’s latest threat come as authorities said ISIS remains a threat.

Trump: Google 'manipulated' up to 16 million votes in 2016 election to help HIllary Clinton

President Trump on Monday said Google tampered with as many as 16 million votes in the 2016 election and that the tech giant should be sued.

“Wow, Report Just Out! Google manipulated from 2.6 million to 16 million votes for Hillary Clinton in 2016 Election! This was put out by a Clinton supporter, not a Trump Supporter! Google should be sued. My victory was even bigger than thought!” he tweeted.

While the president did not link to the report in question, he did tag conservative organization Judicial Watch in the tweet.

Judicial Watch and its president, Tom Fitton, have both recently tweeted about election integrity, but there have been no posts about that specific range of votes or Google’s involvement.

The low end of the range of numbers cited by Mr. Trump matches testimony from psychologist and commentator Dr. Robert Epstein, who told the Senate Judiciary Committee in June “biased search results generated by Google’s search algorithm likely impacted undecided voters in a way that gave at least 2.6 million votes to Hillary Clinton (whom I supported).”

However, Mr. Epstein made no mention of the 16 million figure cited by the president.

Donald Trump's ridiculous link between cancer, wind turbines

"Idiotic," said Sen. Chuck Grassley.

"It’s ridiculous," said Sen. Joni Ernst.

Iowa’s two Republican senators were talking about President Donald Trump’s comment that windmills cause cancer.

Trump made the off-hand remark at a fundraiser for the National Republican Congressional Committee. As he often does, Trump attacked wind power as an energy source. (We checked his recent Mostly False claim that it leaves electric grids at the mercy of the wind.)

"If you have a windmill anywhere near your house, congratulations, your house just went down 75 percent in value," Trump told his fellow Republicans April 2.  "And they say the noise causes cancer."

We asked the White House for evidence that wind turbine noise causes cancer. We didn’t hear back.

The health impact of wind turbines has been a topic of much conjecture. The Australian parliament took the question seriously enough to form a Select Committee on Wind Turbines. The group was sympathetic to personal reports of discomfort, and the list of ailments it heard was long: "tinnitus, raised blood pressure, heart palpitations, tachycardia, stress, anxiety, vertigo, dizziness," and more.

But no one complained of cancer. In its final 2015 report, the committee said more evidence was needed to establish a link to any illness.

Meanwhile, the Australian Medical Association said, "The available Australian and international evidence does not support the view that the infrasound or low frequency sound generated by wind farms, as they are currently regulated in Australia, causes adverse health effects on populations residing in their vicinity. "

A 2014 review in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine of scientific studies found that "epidemiological studies have shown associations between living near wind turbines and annoyance."  And that "annoyance seems more strongly related to individual characteristics than noise from turbines."

So annoyance, yes. Cancer? No.

Trump’s words were particularly unwelcome in Iowa. The Hawkeye State gets nearly 40 percent of its electric power from wind — more than any other state.

A couple of days after Trump spoke, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds kicked off an initiative to expand wind turbines in her state. Reynolds dodged questions about Trump’s statement, saying it wasn’t her place to comment.

But Sen. Ernst had no reservations.

"It’s ridiculous," she said April 4 (listen at 2:20). "Wind energy is just a tremendous asset for the state of Iowa. We are so fortunate to have so much of our electric drawn from a clean power source."

I'm not sure which is worse.... the fact that trump said these things or that people still continue supporting him.

He's not only an idiot - he may actually be incompetent.  Time for the 25th Amendment.
