Title: New clutch cable
Post by Tacopimp on 08/20/19 at 09:55:44

So I am going to need a longer clutch cable. Is there anything important I should know or buy? I watched some YouTube videos and it doesn't seem all that hard to make one, but things seem to always be a little more tricky or involved with our bike. I plan on switching out the hand lever. I found some kits online, but there seems to be a 5mm or 6mm cable to choose from as well.

Thanks

The clutch cable is a pretty standard unit for Suzuki.  You can order from Barnett Clutches or Motion Pro.  Both are good.  You can order to any length, type of sheath covering, designed specifically for the type of attachment, as for throttle cables, etc.
They will also need to know it is for your Savage or S40 & model year.
You can order directly from both companies.

Oh nice, I can order any length clutch or throttle cable from them? Wil it matter that I am going to be changing out the Throttle housing and also the clutch lever?  Thanks for the help!!

Did you go with taller, or pulled back bars? That will require custom cables.

Yes, I should have specified I am looking for custom length cables. I have already purchased a custom length brake cable, and I had planned on making my own throttle cable. If I can buy a custom made clutch cable along with a custom throttle cable I would much rather just do that since it's easier.

If you choose to go with Barnett let me know and I will give you some info so you will get the correct clutch and throttle cables if you need it.
I order cables from them all the time.
