Title: Ethiopia plants trees, proves CO-2 isn't bad.

The logic provided has been that more green is proof that CO-2 is not bad.

Ethiopia just planted 350 million trees.

If all these trees grow and cover Ethiopia in more green coverage then it will show that CO-2 is not bad for the environment as more CO-2 means more trees.  Will this mean climate change is a hoax?

If these trees die will that mean that CO-2 is bad and climate change is real?  Or will it simply mean man can plant trees?

The Bible talks of the cedars in Lebanon.....etc.

I really haven't researched it, etc....but am I to guess this area once held lots of forest?

It historically under the age of man, given you don' think the earth is just over 2000 years old, has not been forest.

The point is that if we are using square footage of green trees as an indicator of CO-2 severity these 350 million trees should, if they survive or not show proof of how bad CO-2 is.

We would of course have to discount the fact that man planted all of them to begin with.

Interesting post Eegore and interesting take.

I think it's obvious we're nearing a point of no return when it comes to climate change (well, it's obvious to me, anyway).

The "greening" of the Planet will be inevitable due to the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere.

But from what I've seen, this greening might be a short term gain.  With climate change affecting weather patterns, the results of extreme weather could knock the greening benefits off the table.

While, yes, it's great that these trees are being planted, it's still important to note that Asia is producing gigatons of CO2, with no curtailing in sight.
