Title: Meet my Grandparents
Post by philthymike on 07/29/19 at 15:14:03

In the attached picture you'll see Anna and Walter. My grandparents God rest their souls.
Walter was born in Poland but raised in Austria. Anna was born and raised in Ukrainia.
Until Lenin decided to starve that country to death because the inhabitants were stubborn to give up their church and faith. Anna was very young at the time but she never forgot being hungry. Her parents took her and her brother and travelled as refugees until eventually setting down in Austria. Anna eventually met Walter there and they fell in love.

Famine isn't contained by borders. People starving in one country leave in hopes of food in other countries. Those other countries soon experience food shortages under the burden of feeding the refugees.

Walter being the son of a cabinet maker chose to cash in his inheritance to take his new bride to the new world before things got worse. He packed Anna and her parents and brother onto a ship to Ellis Island and set sail to a new life with the hope of a balanced diet.

Walter managed against many barriers to setup a kitchen cabinet shop on Long Island. It was nothing but farms but he had the intuition to know that the city would grow. Surely enough it grew and long Island quickly urbanized and business was good.

This story ultimately leads to my birth. At the time Walter had just lost his 2nd leg to diabetes. He was dying despite being healthy. He just didn't want to live anymore and was letting himself die. Immediately after being conceived my mother rushed to her father's room in the same hospital and unceremoniously dumped me in his lap. This event changed him and made him want to live again. And I grew up with a 4 wheeled grandfather who was tough as nails and also as kind as mother Theresa at the same time until he passed from diabetes when I was 8.

My favorite song at the time was Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall.

Walter was a tough customer and I feared him. Until one day we sat in the storefront of his shop making saltines and butter for me and commenting on the people walking past on the sidewalk. He made harmless jokes mostly. But once in awhile he pointed out some poor whino or derelict and said he had no respect for them. Because in a country where survival was guaranteed by the government anyone who still couldn't make it was total trash. And if those people existed back in his home country they would have been food for others.

This was a lesson he learned from Socialism.

You dumb f**ks that believe in this horse crap known as socialism better study up on famine survival strategies. It might save you and your families lives like my grandpa did.

Here's an idea,... let's compare the US to the Ukraine and Venezuela...
Not Canada or the UK, to whom we have nothing in common.

Do you really have so little faith in America?

Also,... you do know WWII happened, right?.
I think Europe had a few little setbacks with that. Like maybe food shortages,... health care,... cities flattened, millions killed?

Dumb f**k yerself...

Mike, my family has a similar story from the same part of the world.  I remember my grandfather telling me the kids on the play ground threw stones at him because he couldn't speak English.  Yet, his parents told him you have to learn you are now an American.  Their were no hand-outs, you went to work and earned whatever you got.

Best regards,

If you were smart enough to understand Mike's point, you'd know the answer to that is you and your cohorts. You have no idea the killer you are inviting into yore house.

You're the fool who believes the snake when he says "Just warm me against your skin on this cold morning. Even though I'm a snake, I won't bite you. I promise."

Do you really have so little faith in America?

This is so AMAZING coming from some one who said if Trump won, he would move out of the country.....

Do you even think about, or remember the stuff you say, and why?

You really need help, seriously, if you think one man can ruin YOUR faith in America.....

This country has been through much, and when it gets real tough, folks have always come together for a greater cause, putting the nations welfare before their own, and you know what whiner......you have the graves of many, many, MANY........ people who did exactly that.....no matter WHAT you say.....UNDERSTAND?

Get some help.
