Title: Wiring diagram for a 2000
Post by Tacopimp on 07/27/19 at 16:22:37

Anyone know where I can get a wiring diagram for a 2000 Savage? I search the forum and only found ones that are of very poor quality here: http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1294779818

I don't mind paying for something if someone can direct me. I am just having trouble with the rear turn signals and tail/brake lights. The previous owner did a number on the electrical syst of the bike.

My problems are: there are only 2 wires running to each of the rear turn signals, guessing there should be 3. And the brake light wires are a real mess. I can post some pics in a bit if anyone has any suggestions.

Thank you!

Rear turn signals should be single filament bulbs, so one power and one ground for each side.

Cool thank you for that! I wasn't sure if the rear turn signals had runnning lights.  The previous owner put aftermarket ones on.

For the tail/brake lights there seems to be too many wires, so it's not making any sense to me.  I attached a pic here, maybe he had stuff going to the brake light that didn't belong there?

Find out if the wire that splits into two is the running light ( should have power with the key on) , you've forgotten the light for the lic. plate. three for the tail/brake light ,two for the plate.
get hold of a Clymer book ,wire diagrams in the back of the book.

That makes sense. Thank you! I will look into buying a Clymer book too.
