So I bought my Savage from an owner who did some not so good modifications to it. Mostly turn signals, tail light mod that was really screwed up, and some other dumb stuff. So in the attached pictures, where was the piece in the picture (solenoid?) originally on the bike? I am guessing under the seat? This guy removed the fender and passenger seat, so all of the electrical stuff was shoved under the stock seat, and it was stuffed there very poorly. There also seems to be some kind of heavy gauge blue wire coming off the piece that was cut and just taped off on the ends. I don't know what it was for. Is it a wire that goes to something or could it possibly been from some other stupid aftermarket lights he had on the bike?

I am in the process of adding the BCB seat kit. I have removed the air box (wow, what a b!tch). I am really just trying to figure out what the cut wires are and where I should relocate the piece from the first picture or if that piece is supposed to go somewhere.

The blue wire is not stock -I'd toss it. the starter solenoid was mounted to the outside of the rear fender, down in the V formed by it and the back of the air box . You can locate it anywhere the battery cables allow , the smaller wires come from the starter button (yellow- black stripe +) and the black -white strip neg . -to ground. And would be easy to lengthen if needed.

Stock cables to/from the starter solenoid are just the right length to relocate the battery and solenoid to a box up front. I use a battery intended for a Raptor 660, fits in the box beside the solenoid all nice and cozy:
