How the heck do you get it out? It's in a pocket with no way to push the outer race. Magic?
Suggestions?
I already tried cursing at it. No go....

The bore on that side is roughly 1 and 1/4" and i just don't have anything that big to put in there. The holesaw I used to push the metal jacketed bushings from my shocks is a good fit diameter wise but don't got enough height. It sits below the lip of the bore and trying to slap a socket on top leads to comedic stupidity. :-/

Broke out the big (heat) gun and found a new use for a x-mas tree stand!
I wanted to post pictures but the size limit is a few hundred bytes below the size of the pictures >:(

Anyways the bearing is out. Hub goes for powdering in the morning.

Anyone know a good source for a sealed replacement bearing?
I'd hate to put this open bearing back in if given a choice.

If you're rich, go to the dealership.
If not, go to the local
Industrial bearing supply house.
I can get the bearings for top and bottom of a lawnmower blade mount for less than I would pay for one bearing at the lawnmower parts house.
I buy from the same place they do.

123 Bearing.

They have a bearing that is heavy duty rated and has seals on both sides, and it is cheap. You can also order your wheel bearings from them. The rubber seal on the pulley hub is a weird size.....you can only get it from the dealer. If the old one is OK you can reuse it, as the replacement bearing is sealed on both side.

It is 1:30 AM so I am not going to the garage - I will look and see if I have a part number tomorrow when I am more awake.

The bearing has a 62mm OD, 25mm ID, and 17mm width.

The rear wheel is not a high speed application - but you can use those bearings.

Any of these will work - I used the $13.34 one in my hubs when I added the bronze bushing:

Also make your powder coating fellow aware that the pulley hub is a bit porous, and has likely soaked up some grease/oil in the pours. He will need to degrease and bake the pulley hub a couple times to get the oil out - otherwise it will ooze out under the powder and screw up the coating (I learned this the hard way).

This is awesome! I really appreciate your help Dave. I'm gonna go for that fancy one like you. They describe it as high speed so I'll go faster with that bearing ;)

Thanks also for the warning about the porous hub. I'll get on the horn with him Monday about it. That snout like protrusion that comes through the middle of the pulley is pretty greasy and grimy too. Spent so much time getting the old bearing out I didn't get a chance to pressure wash the hub.

Same pricing but only 9.99 S&H instead of 39.99 at that 123 place.
